Seashore

Salty vividness calls from its underbelly;
jets of flotsam force their personality
to the shore. Unravelling…
Unfettered.
An expression of purity.

Blue tinged skies cry of possibility:
an empire too out of reach to emerge –
an illusionary temptress.
Clouds skip, dance to slow-winding jigs
around its exposed epicentre:
a sanctuary of worship.

Sand filters through my mind
like conscious intimations;
their coarse touch sharpen the senses:
Clarity. Perspective. Limits.
The soft collective carpet
offered is a falsehood to their actual nature.

Seagulls glide, swerve on upward winds;
daring ability toys with my shyness:
a spectacle of self-awareness.
Instinctive need. Being.

The setting sun closes
my dilated view:
a temporary muse
with a better audience to strut for.

Wings enclose, retract splendid markings.
Unknown and unseen.
