Healing

I said thank you to my inner child today.
I kissed her cheeks and held her hands.
I marveled at my curls for the first time today.
Called my skin beautiful. Even the parts still grieving.
Told them they can stay as long as we love and we try.
I said thank you to my wounds. Traced them with salt. Placed the roses in their vases. Your hand in mine. Everything where it belongs. I belong here. In this season of fall and full moons and sweet apples. In this season of trying and crying and learning to write again. I started writing again. Started praying again. Thankful for the pathways, the windows left open. The breeze, the sunlight. You hug me so tightly, you do.
