MMM… Monday #3 | Nostalgia

When people don’t understand why we live in a sequel world - full of remakes, where we have one trilogy followed by another trilogy. The Star Wars, the Lord of The Rings, the Game of Thrones' eras that never end.   All it tells me is, they don’t understand the value of nostalgia. Probably the most psychedelic experience that I’ve ever felt. Do they not have those moments? Those moments, like me, when you get hit with a dose so heavy that it paralyzes you.. That almost, painful, shock to the system.

If you are one of those people: I have some recommendations.

Please take a moment . Close your eyes. Tell your brain to think of the sexiest & most kinkiest thing that it can think of. Think about being able to relive it over and over again. And THEN. Begin to compile other good feelings on top of that. Now think of experiencing multiple different instances of it.  That's the closest thing I can get to describing the commercialization  of nostalgia . I guess, that’s what marriage is supposed to feel like, right?

The feeling couldn't resonate more, then while I'm watching the first episode of Titans. If you can create a world where people want to live in all day. You’ve done it. A place where one can create moments, go back, and create more, you've done it! It’s why Disneyworld and Disneyland work. It's why Disney bought Marvel and Star Wars. It's why AMC took it too far with The Walking Dead. Why Netflix is trying so desperately to create this Witcher world. It’s why Spielberg did Ready Player One, and why Space Jam got a sequel. Build a world to let the kids in it, and add something from the parent's childhood to. So we can hook them both the same.

it works! It genius!
