Snow Angel

You told me you had never
Built a snowman.
I laughed as you gently formed
A body and made it stand,
You etched a smile onto its face
An in turn my own smile
Took its own place.

'This is our child'
You declared, proudly.
And then you smiled.
Much prettier than mine.
With one look at me
You made all the stars align;

You pointed at my pink cheeks
And my red nose
And told me, 'You're so cold,
And it shows!'
How do I tell you
That I could never be cold
With you? You're my personal
Heater, until we grow old.

We stayed in the cold
Until we turned blue
And in the snow
I found and imprint of you.
And it was an
Angel
You are an
Angel
With your black hair
Against the white snow
And your honey skin
That seemed to glow

I held onto the thought
Of being with you that day.
And I held onto your heart
Until it all melted away
