Upon the shore

They still cross my mind, these thoughts and memories, and I honestly doubt they’ll ever not.

Like one night, when the waves could have swallowed us whole and we watched silently perched on shoreline.

All the words we might have said and all the things we wished we’d have done then, they are hard to forget at times! but I know now, we are much more than them.

And maybe nothing ever dies, but it shifts and it sways and the heartache and the pain, they can feel like the end.

I see now, life is a string of any such things as finding passion and, sometimes, missing an old friend.
