I grew up in a big family with strong ideals of social justice and pacifism and have been an activist since my youth. There's always been music in my life. I started playing drums as a teenager, and have written lyrics and experienced a variety of musical genres.
But (Gotta Reach A) Better Place is my first wholly composed + produced tune. The world is reaching (another) crisis point; I want to reflect how that affects people I know and whole swathes of society. We all have the same basic needs; understanding, respect & love so Better Place is about hope. I aimed for a simple uplifting tune with a universal message, catchy sing-a-long chorus, global beat + great vocals.
I'm lucky to know some very talented singers and musicians, and Better Place is made by their contributions. I hope a wide range of people will find it uplifting.
