Sara Dankha is an Iraqi- Assyrian- Canadian artist. she is based in Toronto, Canada. Sara has been making art ever since she was a child. Sara has been honing her skills in abstract painting for the past several years. Sara is a student at OCAD University and a Humber college Alumni. She works with all mediums like: ink, watercolor, acrylic, oil, graphite, and colored pencils.
Sara, is still a student and she is constantly learning new things everyday. She likes to experiment with all mediums to better her skills and techniques. She is mostly into abstract painting. She likes the flow and vibrancy of colors as they are put to canvas, and she forgets the concept of time as she is working.

My paintings explore the medium of paint as it is applied to canvas. Acrylic paint is a unique way to express my thoughts, ideas and feelings. I like to create a dialogue between the colors and shapes that are used. Art is the language of the soul. It is a visual expression of one’s emotions and ideas. I try to bring an element of excitement and fun into my work. The colors are very vibrant and dynamic and it makes the viewer want to look at it for a long time. It’s relaxing and makes a great conversation piece for my home.

I believe art is a powerful medium to bring the necessary changes in the world as it can be perceived by all kinds of people across the globe. Through songwriting and filmmaking, the Bronx-based MC seeks to illuminate and celebrate the cultural strength of the Pan-African diaspora, specifically of African American art. Starting from his hometown of Newport News, Virginia, he dives into the roots of African American storytelling: music and oral history. They become his vehicle to not only remember the history of his ancestors but also connect with the communities around him.
